BostonCHI is an organization of professionals from the New England area in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. Our members represent the diverse interests of that field: graphic arts, documentation, usability, psychology, user interface design, human factors, industrial design, ergonomics, computer science, training, education, and many others.
Boston-IA is an organization of information architects, information designers, web designers, visual designers, usability specialists, educators, and other internet professionals concerned about the usability and accessibility of electronic media.
The society is intended to foster discussion of foundational issues in cognitive science among graduate students and researchers in the Boston area.
IXDA Boston
The IxDA is a member-supported organization committed to serving the needs of the international interaction design community. With the help of more than 1,500 members worldwide, we provide a forum for the discussion of interaction design issues.
NECHFES is the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society's New England chapter. They are a group formed by HFES and non-HFES members in the New England Area. The Chapter provides forums in which members can exchange information and ideas on human factors and ergonomics issues. They hold regular meetings, sponsor events and special activities, and provide annual reports and business meetings to their group members, as well as to the Society at-large.
The New Hampshire Chapter of the Usability Professionals' Association (UPA) provides networking and professional development opportunities for usability professionals, information architects, interaction designers, and other user experience professionals and students in the Seacoast and Southern NH regions. Our mission is to foster the growth of the local usability community and to provide an environment for members to exchange information on tips, tools, methodologies, and technologies related to usability.
STC Boston helps technical communicators, technical writers, editors, web designers, help developers, technical illustrators, instructional designers, information designers, documentation specialists, information architects, independent contractors, consultants, web content developers, web designers, knowledge managers, publication managers, marketing writers, webmasters, and other professionals in technical communication, technical writing, training, information architecture, information design, knowledge management, and other related disciplines.
Usability Coffee Club
The Usability Coffee Club is an informal gathering of usability practioners to discuss topics of interest on a convenient evening for those interested. In addition to the discussion, there is time to meet colleagues, have informal discussions, and network.
